Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the organization’s workforce needs. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing the recruitment process, and fostering a positive candidate experience. This role involves building relationships with hiring managers, leveraging recruitment strategies to attract top talent, being organized, and proactive, with a strong understanding of talent acquisition best practices. 

  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates.
  • Source candidates using job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Manage job postings across various platforms and ensure job descriptions are accurate and engaging.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial phone interviews, and assess candidates for job fit.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and hiring needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Conduct in-depth candidate assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Facilitate interview debriefing sessions and provide recommendations on candidate selections.
  • Communicate with prior applicants about new positions.
  • Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment verifications as needed.
  • Ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience by maintaining clear communication throughout the entire hiring      process.
  • Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and recruitment conferences.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance employer branding and promote job openings.
  • Develop relationships with universities, trade schools, and professional organizations to attract talent.
  • Work closely with the hiring managers and report back to the HR manager about hiring needs and workforce planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidates, interviews, and hiring decisions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company hiring policies.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics to improve hiring strategies and reduce time-to-fill.
  • Hitting goals set by the HR Manager to meet the hiring needs of the organization.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition.
  • Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision, and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.

· 1 or more years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR. Experience in non-profit, healthcare, or corporate recruitment is a plus.

· Ability to positively present our organization and open roles to candidates.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage multiple job openings and prioritize effectively.

· Proficiency in Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment software.

· Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.

· Ability to travel for recruitment events.

· Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

· Travel and transport are required. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and require reliable transportation.

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
