Talent Acquisition Specialist

This position is an in-person role based in Syracuse, NY
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the organization’s workforce needs. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing the recruitment process, and fostering a positive candidate experience. This role involves building relationships with hiring managers, leveraging recruitment strategies to attract top talent, being organized, and proactive, with a strong understanding of talent acquisition best practices.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Role responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and hiring needs.
- Conduct in-depth candidate assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Facilitate interview debriefing sessions and provide recommendations on candidate selections.
- Ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience by maintaining clear communication throughout the entire hiring process.
- Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and recruitment conferences.
- Develop relationships with universities, trade schools, and professional organizations to attract talent.
- Maintain accurate records of candidates, interviews, and hiring decisions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company hiring policies.
- Analyze recruitment metrics to improve hiring strategies and reduce time-to-fill.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
· 1 or more years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR. Experience in non-profit, healthcare, or corporate recruitment is a plus.
· Ability to positively present our organization and open roles to candidates.
· Proficiency in Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruitment software.
· Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.
· Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
· Travel and transport are required. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and require reliable transportation.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
